Precinct 5
Town Meeting
(3 year term - pick 8)
VANESSA I ALVARADO
As a Town Meeting Member, I believe in fiscal responsibility, thoughtful long-term planning, improving sustainability efforts, and creating an inclusive and welcoming community for all residents. I’ve served as a volunteer in local government for 8 years and recognize the value and need of working collaboratively with my fellow neighbors. It is an honor to serve on Town Meeting and represent the interests of Precinct 5 and the entire town.
JONATHAN E BARNES
I’ve lived in Reading since 1986. I believe in public service; in my work as a lawyer and serving Reading since 1990, including 17 years on the CPDC, 7+ years on the Historical Commission, and serving as a Town Meeting Member since 1995. I’m grateful for the opportunity I’ve had in these positions to listen and learn from my residential neighbors and our business community. Reading has a unique character and identity. I believe it’s my responsibility to always work to preserve that.
CHRISTINE T LUSK
I moved to Reading in 2006. My husband and I have two teenagers, one dog, one cat and a guinea pig.
My volunteerism with the schools has included being a room parent, a budget parent, a PTO co-treasurer, a school council member and co-chair, co-founder of the Joshua Eaton Spelling Bee, as well as many other roles.
My tenure on Town Meeting began in 2017. You can often find me hiking in the Town Forest with my dog. I am very invested in responsible growth for our community.

I believe local government should be inclusive, fiscally mindful and reflect the needs of the community. I’m a 16-year resident of Reading with 2 kids in the Reading Public Schools. I’m a biological scientist in Boston doing research on women’s health. I am a Marine Corps veteran and moonlight as a Scuba instructor.
DAVID ALLAN TALBOT
My family has lived on Linden Street for 27 years and I've been on Town Meeting for more than 10 years. Together with other Town Meeting members, I've participated in many recent meetings and motions on improving downtown zoning and parking. I advocate for smart redevelopment, traffic reduction, and neighborhood protection. I seek your vote not only for Town Meeting but also Municipal Light Board re-election so I can work on Town-RMLD collaboration and a cleaner energy future from both posts.

I have lived in Reading since 1993. I was a member of the Parking Advisory & Recommendation Committee (PARC) and my experience with PARC was the first step in realizing how impactful our residents. I was very involved when my children were in the Reading Public Schools and will bring that same energy, combined with my practical and thoughtful decision-making skills, to Town Meeting. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to serving Precinct 5!
ROBERT J WEIDEN
I have lived in Reading for 20 years and have served on the Recreation Committee for the last 5 years including terms as Chair and Vice Chair. I feel that I am well suited to serve on Town Meeting as I bring a practical and open-minded view of what is needed to best serve the needs of Reading and its residents. I look forward to earning your vote.
