Precinct 4
Town Meeting
(3 year term - pick 8)
Sarah H Brukilacchio
I became involved with TM three years ago upon being directly impacted by 40R development. I'm learning! The homes of the downtown area were not given usual 10-15' residential setbacks. Over decades, the downtown had been rezoned Business B. Residences in Business B are given a setback of zero feet. Zero. Upholding & enhancing the vibrancy, charm and history of the downtown area needs to evolve in concert with future 40R development. The story of Reading is over 375 years old. It's a great one!

I’ve lived in Reading since 2001. I’ve been active in the community through Young Women’s League, I’ve volunteered in the schools as a PTO President, VP, budget parent & school council member. I am a board member of the Reading Education Foundation and have been a TMM for 3 years. I’m always happy to listen and consider the views of other Precinct 4 residents. I feel strongly about supporting RPS and ensuring the town continues to provide a high standard of services to all residents.

My wife Kristen and I have called Reading home since 1998, and I have been heavily involved in youth sports and other volunteer opportunities, including being on the planning committees for the Joshua Eaton playground, the Sturges Park playground & Master Plan Committee for Sturges Park.
I joined Town Meeting in 2020 for a few simple reasons…to stay involved, with the hopes of helping Reading keep its small town feel, maintain its excellent schools & remain financially strong.

I enjoy being on town meeting & helping to guide Reading forward in a changing world, balancing needs of new and existing residents. An active/vocal town meeting member since 2015 in P-3 (redistricted to P-4). Currently FINCOM member, former chair of ARPA subcommittee, & on RMHS school council. Have lived in Reading since 2000, 1 kid at RMHS, 1 kid who graduated RMHS. I run Facebook pages covering schools and town development & stay on top of many current town/school issues especially development, finances, bylaws, conservation, etc.

My name is Mary Christine Kwiatek Paxton. I grew up in Reading and my husband TJ and I recently bought a home here so that we could raise our two young children in the town we love and send them to the schools that made an indelible impact on my life. I offer a unique perspective as I graduated from RPS, taught at RMHS, and am now a parent here. I know and care deeply about this town and will voice your concerns as we honor Reading’s past, celebrate its present, and plan for its future.
Elizabeth Cummings Shurland
I grew up in Reading and my father was involved in town government for well over 15 years. I left to get an education and start a family and came back to raise my family. I own a business in town and am dedicated to giving back to this great place! I feel strongly that town government should support all its citizens in an equitable, welcoming environment. I want to be part of town meeting because I want to support this great local democracy which we inherited.
