I’ve been a resident for 37 years. I’m currently on the Conservation Commission, an eye-opening experience about how Reading works. My wife and I have 3 adult daughters, graduates of the Reading Public schools. Now retired, I had a long career culminating in several decades as Engineering VP for an engineering services firm. As a TMM my focus would be to maintain fiscal responsibility while being open to sensible spending where necessary. Please consider me when you cast your vote. Thanks.

Town Meeting is democracy in it's purest form. Being a Town Meeting member has allowed me to engage in a form of civic involvement that shapes our community and ensure the wellbeing of our residents and businesses . I have found it is a wonderful way to connect to residents outside of my neighborhood, understand the workings of our municipality, shape our budget, and it is an open secret that it is great fun as well. I hope to continue to serve Precinct One residents as a Town Meeting member.

My husband and I have lived in Reading for 25 years and raised our four kids here. The majority of my career has been in public higher education but since 2000 I’ve had the great joy of working for RPS as a substitute teacher in our elementary and middle schools. My interest in serving my fellow neighbors in precinct one stems from a common sense approach to governing that involves a constructive exchange of ideas while working to find common ground and consensus where possible. Thank you.

I think being involved is important. Town meeting is the most direct form of democratic engagement available, and I've found my time on TM thus far to have been eye opening as it relates to our local officials.

I run the "Around Reading" page, which creates video profiles of interesting people, businesses and organizations in town. My wife & I have lived in Reading for nearly a decade; we have two boys (at Killam & Coolidge). I enjoy being an active part of the community and educating myself on the issues. Overall, I think the town staff and committees do a great job. I see Town Meeting as often the final step to ensure that budgets and zoning align with community priorities.

I’m a curious learner, lifelong educator, parent, and small business owner currently working in the nonprofit world. I believe that asking questions and seeking to understand others’ experiences is crucial in responsible decision making, and am committed to building understanding across lines of difference. I believe that Black lives matter; that “they” is both a plural and singular pronoun; and that climate change is real. I wear my seatbelt, floss, write thank you cards, and tip generously.
